Elks Home Lighting Ceremony



Visiting the Elks National Home during the Chrismtas season to view the extensive outdoor display has become an annual tradition for many families. The Home makes this its holiday gift to the public. Executive Director Dr. Ronald L. Plamondon, has announced that the official lighting of the display will take place on Friday, December 9, at 5 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the Home's spacious dining room.

After this the Home's Christmas display, which is open to the public free of charge, will be illuminated each evening from 5:30-10:00 p.m. from Dec 9-21.

'Spirit of the Season'


The presentation of The Christmas Shoes - a touching drama based on the song by the same title, intertwined with the musical "Forever Gloria" a blend of innovative and classic songs that share the wonder and warmth of the holiday, will be held at Palestine Baptist Church, 9244 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston on Saturday at 7 pm and Sunday at 7 pm. Breakfast with Santa


Join the Bedford County and Bedford City Parks and Recreation Departments Saturday, Dec 10, 9-11 am for breakfast with Santa. This event will be held at the Bedford Public Library with pictures and breakfast provided. Activities will include pictures with Santa, breakfast and crafts for youth up to 12 years of age. I have never been to the Elks to see the lights I hear they are great. I just may have to make it up there this year.
