4th Annual Winter Craft Festival

Details: The Fray Educational Center is hosting the 4th Annnual Winter Craft Festival on November 5, 2005 starting at 9 am and ending at 2 pm. Support a good cause and get some holiday shopping done. Money raised at the festival will be used to purchase educational materials. There will be crafters (with many crafts for sale), bake sale, childrens activities, door prizes, food, silent auctions, and much more. Also the Chrysler Drive for Kids" campaign will be present at the festival: For every adult who test drives a new Chrysler/Dodge and completes a short questionnaire, the Chrysler Division will donate $5.00 to the Fray Educational Center fundraiser. So come join the fun on November 5, 2005 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Fray Educational Center (next to Rustburg High School) at 1551 Village Highway (Route 24), Rustburg. Chili cook-off
Smith Mountain Lake's third Fall Chili Festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bridgewater Plaza. The festival offers food, crafts, entertainment and music.
Brunswick Stew
The 22nd Annual Brunswick Stew will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Big Island Firehouse in Big Island, located on Route 501 N, Lee Jackson Hwy. Carry-outs are available. Hot Dogs and homemade desserts will be available. Bluegrass music begins at 3 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Miller Home, proceeds will go to provide Christmasfor the girls of the Miller Home in Lynchburg.
Fall book/bake sale
The Friends of the Forest Public Library will be holding a Fall Book and Bake Sale. The sale will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5 fom 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information contact the Forest Public Library at 434-525-1817. The Forest library is on 221 near route 811.
Bloodmobile
Bethany United Methodist Church in Forest (behind Virginia Memorial Park) will sponsor a bloodmobile on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Donors should call586-1876 or Harold and Ann Reid at 434-525-3604 to register. Leave your name and phone number for a returned call to establish a time.
Bluegrass gospel concert
Norwood Baptist Church in Forest will host a Bluegrass Gospel Concert featuring Mark Templeton and New Vision on Saturday night, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. the group hails from High Point, N.C. and blends traditional bluegrass and gospel. A love offering will be received for the group. A reception/refreshments will be served after the service. The church is located on Rt. 221 S., 3 1/2 miles from Forest on the right. Bedford Book Festival
For the third year, the Bedford Public Library System will present its Bedford Book Festifal. This year's festival will be held at Bedford Central Library on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. There will be several authors and their books available.
Spaghetti Supper
Oakland United Methodist Church in Goode will sponsor a Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Oakland United Methodist in Goode. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., Oakland will serve spaghetti with meat sauce, salad's with fixins, bread, desserts and beverages. Carryouts will be available. Cost: adults, $6 and children under 12, $3. All proceeds from this supper will benefit the Oakland Building Project.

Auction Gospel Sing
There will be a church auction and gospel singing and chili bean dinner on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Rock Pike Baptist Church at 1117 Black Water Road, Forest. The auction will be at 4 p.m. and enad at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Gospel singing will begin at 6 p.m. The chili bean dinner will start after the singing. All proceeds will go toward installing bells and chimes on the steeple.

Monthly Tea
The Smith Mountain Lake Ballroom Dancers will hold their monthly Tea Dance at the Bedford Middle School on Sunday, Nov. 6 from 3-6 p.m. There will be a lesson on Foxtrot followed by social dancing. Art show, sale set
The Seven Hills Art Club will conduct its third Show and Sale at the Bedford Oublic Library, 321 North Bridge Street, during the month of November. Artwork will include watercolors, oils, pastels, acrylics and photography. An opening reception will be on Sunday, Nov. 6 from 2-4 p.m., on the upper gallery level. The public is invited to view the show and meet the artists. Refreshments will be served.
