Random Acts of Kindness

One of the links we post on our website is to Pay It Forward Movement. There is also the Pay It Forward Foundation. Both of these sites have the same goal in mind: to make our world a better place one favor at a time. If you haven't seen Pay It Forward the movie, I highly recommend you watch it, hanky in hand. The basic premise is that you do favors for three different people withour expecting a reward in return, instead those three people each go out and do favors for three more people and soon the whole world is paying it forward! It is a great concept and these links above will give you some ideas of how to get started in your community and classroom. And of course, you aren't limited to three favors.

Today, I was watching the news and saw a promo for a new show called Random 1. It is based on something that has been going on for ten years called Random Acts of Kindness. Check out this website, it has ways to get classrooms and communities involved. And remember, acts of kindness can be simple like letting a person ahead of you in traffic, handing a mom a couple of dollars to buy her daughter a hotdog that she wants that the mom can't afford, a hug, raking a neighor's yard, and many, many more!

I really appreciate your post, kindness has its own reward for the giver, no matter if it is returned or not.
