New Internet Scam: Don't Fall into There Trap

On a visit across the pond to a British blogger, he relates a new scam someone is trying to use to fish information and and maybe funds out of your pocket book.

What happens is that you get an email supposedly from eBay that says someone is using your account. This scam is also targeting pay pal saying much the same thing. The intent of the schemers is to get credit card information, or information about your online accounts.

If you get an email like this, your first thought should be to contact eBay or pay pal. My British friend has posted what has happened to him and how he handled it. People are always trying to find ways to separate you from your money. Take a look at how this British blogger responded.

Thanks for your comment MOM. We all should tread carefully and expect almost anything.

I have received several of these emails over time, the key is the address/URL that you are taken to. It is never www.ebay.com

it may be www.ebay.whatever.com or with the ebay/amazon/paypay etc at the end but the url will never be as it should be.

BTW Bob, I liked the twenty questions!

I have been a little buy trying to get the Juarez piece worked on. I am up to part seven but it needs some ironing.

Good luck with the piece Steve. 20 questions is a remarkable program, it is amazing at how good it is and it gets better everytime you play.
