Reuniting Parents and Children after Hurricane Katrina

During the evacuation of New Orleans, parents and children were separated. Sometimes parents made heart wrenching choices to send their children ahead with rescuers to get them to safety first. MissingKids.com is aiding in the effort to reunite families.

So far over 800 children are not with their parents and the numbers are expected to climb. On the bright side, 125 children have been reunited with their families. So if you know people from that area, take a moment, look through the photos and see if you recognize a child. There is concern about predators showing up and claiming the children, but the organization says they are not just handing children over, they are doing everything possible to make sure the children do indeed belong to the person claiming them.
