New Orleans Aquarium Doesn't Fare Well

On the 5th, I reported that the New Orleans Zoo had little problems when Hurricane Katrina came through. Unfortunately, the New Orleans Aquarium wasn't so lucky.

One of the premiere aquariums, The Aquarium of the Americas, was home to 10,000 fish representing over 500 different species. Most of the fish perished when the facility lost electricity. Without air pumps operating to oxygenate the water, the fish were unable to survive.
