William Shay: Mad Max Wantabe: Is Going to Trial As an Adult

Felony charges against William Shay Ward for an alleged break in and sexual assault at a residence on Leesville Road last May were certified today to the Circuit Court for trial as an adult.
At a preliminary hearing Judge William Light certified 11 felony charges to the September term of the grand jury. These charges include burglary, rape, robbery, abduction with intent to defile, malicious wounding, wearing a mask in public and five counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charges of burglary, rape and robbery each carry a maximum sentence of life in the penitentiary.
A trial date has not yet been selected. The case is being prosecuted by Commonwealth's Attorney William Petty.
