Big News Day in Egypt!

I read two interesting stories today about amazing finds in Egypt.

One was news of a huge crater found in the Sarahan Desert. It is 19 miles across and dwarfs Meteor Crater in Arizona (3/4 miles across)! It was spotted through use of satellite imagery.

The other story was that the oldest seafaring ship timbers were found in a cave in the Egyptian Desert. Also found were some cargo boxes and other interesting artifacts pointing to Egypt's Middle Kingdom. Guess it just goes to show that the movie Sahara wasn't as far-fetched as my husband wanted to believe;)
