More Snow and Icy Weather to Come

While the remenats of snow are still found in the Lynchburg area, there is a new forcast for more of the icy weather to come. Drive Careful.

NOAA is reporting:

LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING OVER THE SOUTHEAST ON WEDNESDAY WILL
SPREAD A LARGE AREA OF PRECIPITATION OVER THE AREA WEDNESDAY NIGHT
INTO THURSDAY.

AT THE SAME TIME...HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE NORTH EAST WILL ALLOW COLDER AIR TO FILTER INTO THE REGION. AS THE PRECIPITATION OVERRUNS THIS COLDER AIR...A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN IS LIKELY TO DEVELOP LATE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO THE DAY ON THURSDAY.

PRESENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT THE PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS A MIXTURE OF SNOW AND SLEET IN MANY AREAS BEFORE CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SOME LOCATIONS ACROS SSOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA INTO THE NORTHWEST PIEDMONT OF NORTH CAROLINA MAY SEE THE PRECIPITATION TURN TO ALL RAIN THURSDAY MORNING.

AT THIS TIME...IT APPEARS THAT SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ARE POSSIBLE ALONG WITH SOME ICE ACCUMULATION BEFORE THE PRECIPITATION ENDS THURSDAY EVENING.
