WSLS from Roanoke is reporting:
Governor Mark Warner has declared a limited state of emergency for Virginia. Besides having the National Guard, the Forestry Department and elements of the air arm of the Virginia Police on standby to supplement those already sent to help in the Gulf affected states, he has told Virginia schools to prepare to accept students from the afflicted areas.
Colleges, Universities and primary schools K through 12 should expect to receive students, Mark Warner has declared.
Implied in the Governor's declaration is that Virginia may be receiving victims of Katrina to be relocated in the Commonwealth.
