Gas Stations across Virginia Running out of Gas

The Richmond Times is reporting:


Gas stations in Danville and Pittsylvania County area are out of gasoline, and the bad news is so are their suppliers. Gasoline terminals in Bedford, Greensboro, and the Eastern Shore are nearly out of gas. To read more go the the Richmond Times Dispatch.

In a CSPAN report last night, experts on the energy infrastructure reported, that at least 25% of domestic production has been impacted. Pipelines have also suffered damaged from Katrinia, and nine major refineries in the United States are off line. Additionally, the status of oil imports may have been affected adversely because a major port that handles tankers also suffered an unknown amount of damage.

Besides high prices, we may soon be facing shortages in the Lynchburg Area.

The Colonial Pipeline is expected to be restored to 50% to 60% of capacity next week, according to the Virginia Pilot.
