Expect Seafood Prices to Rise

Do you enjoy a nice seafood dinner from time to time? Well, best save up some extra money before heading out for seafood. Expect prices to rise.

It is estimated that 2/3 of Louisiana's oyster beds have been destroyed. This is prime white shrimp season, but the docks are either non-existant or if they are there, there is no ice or refrigeration to use when the shrimp are brought in. Add to that waters filled with debris from the storm, and not only will we be paying more for the seafood we get, but the thousands of people along the Gulf Coast don't have a livelihood.

Hurricane Katrina really attacked from a variety of angles and it is going to take months and years to return to where things were before she arrived. Check out this article for more information on the damage done.
