Hello All-

This is "John" from the WSET-13 News story/article and I would like to simply let everyone that cares know that I am not in any way, shape or form, advocating or promoting the burning of the American Flag or anything else for that matter.

I was asked a question, and as you can plainly see or read, that question was not featured.

As is typical for news media, only scraps of what I said were used to give the story "two sides" and the meaning of my words was twisted by the way it was edited. Lesson learned.

The lesson? DO NOT TALK TO THE MEDIA. There's an agenda at work here, and the fact that there's already been "pro-flag burning" things on their website lets me know that I should have just kept on walking.

I am sorry if anyone was offended. My appreciation and respect for anyone that ever lived or died defending our country is beyond huge and I would like to apologize to anyone that took offense.

Again, sorry to anyone who might have been offended. -John

Hello John, thank you for your comment. We appreciate your clarification, and we are glad you can let others know that what you said was changed to fit the story.

Our plain and simple opinion is that when something is misrepresented, and changes the meaning of what you mean, is both a disservice to you and to the people who are misinformed.

There are two things that we can appreciate: Is that you are able to respond on WSET's feedback section, and you can respond elsewhere like here and tell others what happened. And thank you for doing both.

This in no way condones how the context of what you said was changed. It is like a car wreck, you can say you were sorry later, but the damage was already done.
