Jason Campbell Speaks Out on Lynchburg City Priorities

From Jason Campbell's Website:

QUESTION? ARE YOU $141 MILLION BETTER OFF THAN FOUR YEARS AGO? BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MUCH THE LYNCHBURG BUDGET HAS GROWN!

Before we hit the numbers let's look at the top three priorities the City Council has set for 2007 according to page two of the City managers Proposed Budget for 2007.

"Priorities identified by the City Council include:

1. A superior education community
2. Stable, productive inspired families
3. A dynamic economic development center WITH EMPHASIS ON DOWNTOWN and INCREASED real estate value"WHAT?

In 2007 they are going to cut public school funding by an expected $1.5 MILLION. And that is their NUMBER 1

PRIORITY.Number 2 - No problem with that priority.

Number 3 - Scares me, and should scare you knowing what we know about their spending habits downtown.

DID YOU KNOW....The 2007 Lynchburg Budget is $37 Million more than Roanoke's 2007 budget. Although they have over 30,000 more citizens than Lynchburg!
