Virginia's 3 Digit Number Service Expands
In an emergency we all know 911, if something goes wrong it is our first resource for help. Need help from the police, fire department, or an ambulance even our children know what to do.
Dial 411 and you get information, it use to be more personal with a real operator.
Do you know about 511, if you are traveling on Virginia Highways you can get information about road conditions, public transportation, weather conditions affecting roads, and where you might encounter construction delays. If you still haven't tried it, you should if planning a trip, it also gives information about other states.
Soon there will be a new number 211, in the next six months or so. You will be able to get information about all the things Social Services offer, and what local communities offer, both public and private.
Now while we are talking about phones, don't forget to put ice on your cell phone. ICE is the in case of emergency number you put in your cell phone memory. It would look something like this: ICE-Father. Then if something happened to you the police or emergency people will know who to call immediately.
