Lynchburg's Technorati Top Ten

Technorati the premier blog directory, has a good grasp on what people are searching moment by moment. At times, our blog has collided with the search picks, but mostly it hasn't. After all we are a local blog for the Lynchburg, Virginia area. And being quiet, and southern, we are more likely to eat grits while the Yankees are pouring syrup on their scrapple.

If you don't know what scrapple is, it will put pickled pigs feet to shame, on a gross meter. We decided to look at the top ten ten picks of technorati through Lynchburg eyes and just see what we thought of Technorati's pick ten.

1. Impeach Bush: Now that is a no brainer. If you are from Lynchburg and start yelling that around. You might also consider walking around Mid Town without a bullet proof vest after dark. Virginia might be lovers, but Lynchburg loves Bush. The Lynchburg Advance is telling us, his poll numbers are down, but that is not something they will say very loudly.

2. Katrina: A red hair southern Lady whose last nerve was plucked, if you meet someone like this in Lynchburg you better evacuate the area quick or you are likely to get bent up backwards and hit on the side of the head.

3. I pod nano: Something some rich Yankee will be putting in his top pocket, along with his cross pen. We think it might be a white noise maker, to drown out the noise from those cars blaring rap music, which is a terrorist plot to knock buildings off their foundation.

4. Cindy Sheehan: A Yankee mother on a rage, who maybe related to Katrina. We have our own Lynchburg version of Cindy.

5. Nokia 7700: While the most of us are walking around in tee shirts and jeans, you occassionally see the three piece suit complete with a gold watch chain. Usually you will see yankees sporting the Nokia 7700. We think this is some kind of dressing accessory. Our favorite dressing accessory in the south is a truckers wallet chained to the belt.

6. Breaking Benjamin: We are really confused on this one. We think that there is some band or something that stole the name Benjamin from a restaurant in Bedford. We are not sure about this, but a law suit may soon follow.

7. Burger King Commercial: Burger King is a place where a Lynchburger might go if he finds himself too hungry to make it to the Texas Tea Room. You have to love those Cheesy Westerns with a bowl all the way. Maybe its not Dr. Angus, but we love them anyway.

8. Bush: We won't beat around the Bush on this one. We leave that for others.

9. Bush Bathroom: Even in the south we realize that there are some human functions that are just private. If you can't find a real bathroom, and you are in the woods, go around the Bush please.

10. Ajax: The all purpose cleaner you get at the dollar store. Usually you can get two for a dollar. We will try using it to clean the java off the computer.

Fantastic, I've blogged about this and Dave Lucas' followup at SnakeOil Labs. Very funny, also very interesting from an experimental point of view.
