Local Homeschool Groups

Blue Ridge Family Unschoolers Network is another local homeschooling group. This group covers all the surrounding areas with members in Amherst, Bedford, Campbell, Franklin and Roanoke Counties as well as Lynchburg, Bedford, Danville, and Roanoke cities. The group does not have a fee or officers and is an all inclusive group. They are set up with a yahoo site and you can subscribe here. This is a great group (okay, I am a little prejudice) and one full of a variety of beliefs, homeschool methods and people. If you are homeschooling or know a homeschooler, check it out. When I first started homeschooling three years ago, I originally joined three local groups and this is the one I chose best fit my needs. I would advise people new to homeschooling to do the same.

Virginia and Central Virginia Home Educators are a couple of sites you can check out for other support groups in the area. Happy Homeschooling!

Does your group ever have used book sales? My name is Laurie and I have homeschooled for 16 years. I am no longer homeschooling and I have sold at least 15 boxes of books and have about 10 more to sell. All of the books are in great shape and there are MANY different subjects.
