Harvest Festival at Big Otter Mill

The Charlie Parker Memorial Harvest Festival at Big Otter Mill will be Saturday, Oct 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. located at Big Island Highway (route 122N) about three miles from the city limits.

The title sponsor is Master Engineers and Designers, Lynchburg. The event features the world famous Brunswick Stew by Tony Ware, BBQ and burgers by Liberty Masonic Lodge #95. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Exhibits include: candle making, spinning and weaving, blacksmith, tin smith, soap making, basket weaving, corn husk dolls, quilting, rug hooking, wood carving and sawing, hit and miss engines, corn grinding, antique tractors, children's games and entertainments. Try your hand at the cider press and butter churn. Mill will be open for tours. Vendors offering: Big Otter Mill items, corn meal and grits, Virginia grown produce, jewelry, T-shirts, art, silent auction items including original artwork by Kathleen Husted, item from florists, jewelers, restaurants and other local merchants. Free favors from businesses.
