National Day of Service

Looking for a meaningful way to commemorate the events of 9/11?  Join from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Smith Mountain Lake State Park to take part in a National Day of Service. Per-register now to enjoy a canoe trip while helping to clean up the shore lines. Space is limited and those pre-registered will enjoy a free lunch after the clean-up. The group will meet at the Main Picnic Parking Lot at 9 a.m; bring sunscreen, bug repellent and plenty of water. PFD's (life vests), canoes and paddles will be provided for the event--no flip-flops--participants 13 yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-register by Friday September 9th at 5 p.m. Registration forms are available at the Smith Mountain Lake Sate Park's Visitor Center or call 540-297-6066.
