Islam: The Other Peaceful Religion

A recent Islamic demonstration in England, shows their peaceful intent, peace can be found after all infidels are dead. It is important to note that not all Islamic practitioners are of this ilk, only 9 out of 10 bombings are performed by those with a fatwa against the western barbarians.

Its not that I am against the free practice of religion, after all we western barbarians have the idealistic aspiration that all religions can live in peace. Our constitution provides for this. Our morals direct us to this end.

But should we not pay attention to some of the peaceful intents that are coming from their religious leaders and taken up by their followers. Describing Islam is like blind men relating what an elephant is like. Could it be possible that we have really no idea?

Or is it time, we should no longer hold a blind eye of how Islam inspires many followers to bring us to our grave?

I first read of this English demonstration here. Michelle Malkin
adds the the point to exclamation mark.

Hi Bob I am glad it’s a peaceful religion because Id hate to see a bitter vindictive religion, I wonder why it’s taken since October to build up this head of steam??
We have had more demonstrations in London today, however the placards have been more subdued in nature to the outrageous versions of yesterday. One man was arrested because he was demonstrating against the demonstration! So his free speech was impaired, is this weird or not?

Hi all and thanks for your comments. I do acknowledge that not all terrorist acts are not committed by Muslims. However, I think 9 out of 10 terrorists acts are and I stand by that.

If you look at my past posts you will see that I am equally hard on radicals no matter what their religious persuasion.

Plus, I argue that separation between church and government is a good thing as is separation from the church from political agendas.

No one group should impose themselves on another. But when a religion condones the use of violence, and uses the structure of their church or mosque or syagod for the promotion of violence, It is no longer serving our God, their God, or people who do not believe God. Religions that promote violence should be banned like pornography and do not have a rightful place in society.

LOL, Lesse, that leaves Buddhism, Shintoism, Hinduism, the various Pagan/Wiccan religions, and hmmm, that's about it.

Of course, everyone who's religion is outlawed is welcome to join my new religion. It's a mix of Wicca and Star Trek.. I am calling it Trekka. There are no radical factions... unless someone wants to start a Klingon Church ( q'Pla!)

Live Long and Prosper.....Peace and Long Life

As Foghorn Leghorn would have said "It's a jo-I say a joke son...only a joke.."

I was only joking with Bob and setting up the joke about Trekka.

Most religions have had either a violent past (Christianity and Judisam for example) or have a violent present, Islam as another example. But all religions have at their core, a belief in doing good. The problems lies when a certain percentage of the adherents of a given religion interpret its message in a certain way (Crusades, Inquititions, Jihads, Fatwahs, etc)

While all of these religions speak of love and peace, it is often the perception of the religion by both its adherents and non-adherents that gives a religion its particular reputation.

The Hebrews were a violent lot, destroying whole cities, man, woman child, with no stone left unturned.

Then came the Christians with the Crusades until they met up with Saladin and ran home crying. Then they decided that they needed to weed out the heretics and non-believers and along comes the Spanish Inquistion, which was quite a surprise, since no one expected that.

Now Islam has a bloody bose because
of the actions of a particular faction, and the perception of the public is that that faction represents a larger slice than maybe it really does.

Still, I was partially joking about the other stuff, since those listed religions are the only ones that I am aware of that have had no period of significant violence attributed to them. And like I said, it was a good set up for my Star Trek religion, which BTW, Daniel is welcome to join...I'll make him a Deacon. LOL
