Driver Safety Course
An AARP 55 Alive Driver Safety Course will be held at the Elks National Home in the Peaksview Room. It will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12 and Thursday, Oct 13. The two-day refresher course will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. The sponsors of the program are our local AARP chapter #4256 and the Elks Home. The cost is $10 per person. To register call Anne Smith at 586-2506. Class size is limited. Graduates of this course, who are 55 or older and eligible, will qualify for an automobile insurance preium reduction.

I think that is a great program. As we get older our driving skills do diminish. And few are willing to see, just how much. Reflexes change as does vision. But older drivers do have one advantage, experience.
