The news is saying that it was merely a "suspicious package" and that the suspects were lying about it being an explosive device.
Thanks for your comment. Again, it was just that. It seems like the driver got out of the car and asked for directions, and then added, "oh do you see that package, its not a bomb."
Then there was the hapless hitch hiker, who without association with the guy, who made the statement, got drawn into the evolving mess.
We are all almost like a flock of geese now that after landing will all fly with the least hint of danger.
This may not be a bad thing. It does serve the geese well.
