The Black Water Dancers

The Black Water Dancers are a medieval and renaissance dance group in Lynchburg VA. Most of their dances are ones that you may have seen at SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) or Ren Faire events. They span from the 15th to the 17th century and cover many countries individual styles. (English, Italian, French, Irish, German, etc) Most of their dances have come the works of the great dance masters(Thoinot Arbeau, Fabritio Caroso, and John Playford), while other works are more modern creations using period movements and music.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Prior dance experience is not required. Just an interest in historical dance and having fun. You can find the Blackwater Dancers in Yahoo Groups or just click this link. They are currently looking for new members.
