Evening Sky at Abbot Lake
Lake Abbot at the Peaks of Otter is always a pleasant place to visit. Now in the late evening wildlife has come alive. A walk around the lake revealed many deer, humming birds rabbits and squirrels. If you have not been there in awhile, take a break from your hectic life and feel the beauty of Nature. If you click the photo it will lead you to my photo stream that shows many of the beauties of our area.

Up close and personal with a deer in the wild
I approached quite carefully she knew me by seeing me several days before. I felt we could touch noses, I was about five away when I took this image. Her fawn was standing with her back to me about three feet away now. A few people near the lake watched in amazement as I got so close. If you would like to see more images of deer and fawns nursing in the wild. Click the photo, and explore my photo stream.

Yogaville Lotus Center
Yogaville is a strange little place in Virginia on the James River. It is a community and is considered a small town. It brings a touch of India to our backyard. I snuck in this hill overlook and this is a handheld HDR . Left my tripod in the car I didn't want to attract attention. The building is in the shape of an opening Lotus that characterizes their belief that to change world you must open yourself and start the change there. The use of HDR was only used to recover details that would be lost in normal photography. I have never seen a good picture of this Center.
